   I was just watching the BBC news channel and they just reported that a twenty year old male, I think
   
   somewhere in Great Britain, fell off his seventh-story balcony and died while participating in something which is supposedly called "Planting". "Planting' from my understanding is when someone lays face-flat in an odd place or circumstance and then, a photograph is taken and put on a social website.
   This kid died while trying to participate in this "planting" thing, by laying face-flat on the balcony railing. He fell-off seven stories.
   I did some stupid things when I was younger but what kids are doing nowadays is getting ridiculous. What are the parents doing?What are these kids thinking?

   Kids nowadays are so curious in all aspects as well as the so called perception and coordination where unexpected outcomes and moves are made that made then so excited. Parents are very much open and accept that at those age kids do explore and that too much confident may lead to a disastrous events.

   As the kids of today are more intelligent, they would go one step ahead of their parents. But the important thing is that parents should pay attention and keep guiding their kids about what is wrong and what is right.

   How tragic!  I'm from the previous generation and I'm glad about that.  Both my mother and father would control my sisters and me with the one 'look.' 
   
   Any thoughts of 'crazy behavior' was not happening.

   Doesn't surprise me. 'tombstoning' (you think the name of it would put people off huh?) where people jump off high rocks/bridges etc kills and paralyzes people every single year :\

   The social event you are talking about is called "planking."  The participant lays flat on his or her belly with arms outreached and legs extended.
   
   That this young man fell to his death while planking is a terrible waste of a young life--but as nature allows for stupidity perhaps this young man should have spent more time planning his event instead of dropping to the face of the planet from such an extreme height.
   
   I'm sure his parents are mourning his passing, but what can one do if intoxicants were being used, or a young man simply got too much adrenaline flowing and in the excitement he lost his life.
   
   It is a sad exercise...and dangerous...but planking should certainly be done with a great deal of planning--perhaps a safety course or ten?
