   i have several and remember this day for those family members that are veterans and gave their lives for our country.
   this is a day for those that do and do not have family members to remember those men and women that have served our country and consider to do so.

   Having grown up in the 1940,50's and 60s it was normal to have family in the servies.My oldest brother was in the Navy.So were two brothers in laws. One brotherin law in the Army. Another brother was in the Army Reserves during Korea. I was in the Navy resrve between Korea and Viet Nam wars.

   My Grandfather was a veteran of world war 2, but unfortunately he's no longer with us. He didn't ever talk about the war much but he did have war medals and said that he'd seen some terrible things. It's hard to comprehend the sacrifice that these brave men and women make for us.

   I have several veterans in my family and several who are still in the military. My father, uncle, mother-in-law and cousin were all in various branches. My husband, brother, and step-father-in-law are all currently in the army.
   
   We're a very militaristic family.

   My grandfather (dad's side) was drafted into the Army during WWII and served in the Batle of the Bulge. My other grandfather (mom's side) served 4 years in the Marines just before Vietnam; spent some time in Cuba during the missile crisis. My great uncle was an Army MP during the Korean War. One uncle served in the Navy during Desert Storm and another did one enlistment (peace time) in the Army. I am a Marine veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan.

   Veterans in the making. I have one active duty army sgt in north Carolina and another in the navy in california.

   Yes.  My husband served in the Army Infantry for 20 years.  He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Desert Storm.  My father-in-law was a retired Quartermaster Colonel in the Reserves.  I lost an uncle in World War II.  My brother-in-law was an Army Chaplain and just retired after 30 years.  I have two cousins who served in Vietnam.  God Bless them all and their families who served right along with them.  Jonesy0311-Thank you for your service.

   Yes. My grandfather. He was in World War Two as a Ranger. He was glanced by a bomb and still has shell fragments in his right arm and skull. He cannot feel anything in his right hand and has bad memory. Yet he still has good reasoning.
