   I believe that kids of today have less respect due to parenting, because parents of today have less respect. Parents don't respect themselves or the chidlren so the children don't show respect. It has to be taught. I was taught it, I taught my children and they are teaching their children.

   parents today are overly permissive with their children mostly because they don't want to be bothered to discipline them as needed.

   High Teenage pregnancy would be my guess. We have kids bringing up kids and another factor is all the social aspects of parents not being allowed to smack their kids. I agree that peoples views on this are very different and I do not mean to say that parents should be battering their kids just a smack on the bottom will do, Thats what I got and it never hurt me.

   Monkey see, monkey do. American's don't respect eachother and they pick that up. Also some parents don't have the time to be around their kids enough to enstall morals. Their children are at school with other children with older siblings. Children learn from their older siblings and bring what they learn to school. You would be amazed what they know! In Florida, I met a 6-year-old boy who talked with the other children during lunch about which girl they wanted to hump!

   i agree that kids now have less respect,very impolite than we where before back in the 90s lolss..seriously,do i am a kids of the so called 90s,i am very polite as well as my peers..whatever our parents,grandma,aunts,uncles even our older cousins tell us,we abide it..we don't contest it, we never put up a fight lols..now kids are rude they put up a fight,cos some parents are tolerating their children how they behave mischievously..u know this so called parents should be a friend to their children too is a crap thing..ok ok yes they can be friends to their children but,they forget in return that they are parents as well..parents first and foremost should be a parent first before a friend to their kids..cos kids has their set of friends already..and the media has great impact to the kids nurturing years and values formation thing..parents must be in control and not let their kids control them..and parents should put up a good example for the kids to emulate and respect..

   In my opinion, kids are not taught about respect and parents and child spends less time with each other. other factors also affecting them. And also what they see that they do.

   Children learns from parents, if parents are respectful then children will be. Many parents are too much free with their children, that is why they get less respect. Always be free but normal not too much.

    It depends on how the parents raised them. Peers also affect the manner of kids and youth today. Another thing is the social media. Kids adapt easily to what they see around and kids think that what they see around is always right. Parents need to raise their children right and tell them what is right and what is wrong.
