I think that in the financial pressures of today, more and more parents have to work full time, and don't get to spend as much time as they would like with their family.
I am quite lucky, as earlier this year I cut my work hours from full time to around 20 hours per week. This means that I get to spend a lot more time at home with my family. We set aside one night a week for a family night and do something together, whether it is going out for the evening or staying at home watching a movie or playing games. Neither my partner or I work at weekends now, so we have lots of time to do things that we all enjoy. With the summer round the corner, we have lots of things that we want to do as a family - bicycle rides, picnics, days out, holidays etc. Family is very important to us and we want to make the most of it while my daughter is fairly young as children grow up so fast.
