QUESTION FOR PARENTS......... Whats your opinion!!!
Whats your opinion on having your kids in public school or private christian academy? I PREFER PRIVATE
My decision would be based on the school(s), personal budget, and children's abilities.
Not all private schools are better than public. Not all Christian academy's teach or exemplify truly Christian philosophy - especially when those who attend or sit on its Board engage in snobbery of word, deed or thought!
I have lived in communities where I believe my children would benefit socially, academically, philosophically and physically from attending a private Christian academy -- and I have seen other such institutions where I would much rather place my children in the public school system.
What is the academic philosophy of each school, what are their grade standards? What is their code of conduct and how do they enforce it?
Not a simple "yes" or "no" or "A" or "B" answer!
My preference is for children to attend whichever that affords them with a quality education that prepares them for success in an ever-changing, competitive, global society. There are advantages and disadvantages to both public schools and private christian schools. Know your child's learning style and learning needs; then make an informed decision based on the best fit for your child. Every child is different and every school is different (whether public or private christian).
I'm not very happy with our public school systems around here anymore, but honestly, I don't know which would work better for my child. I'll probably start her in public school, and if it is needed, switch her to private.
It would depend on a lot of things. Assuming I could afford it and the Christian school was accredited and had a good reputation, I would prefer it if class size is small.
Whether public or private, kids can really thrive in a small class - which unfortunately is likely not available in public school.
there is just soooo much going on in those public schools its crazy, so many kids even though the teachers try they cant really do one on one with any of the kids!! kids getting bullied (which is floridas number one leading cause of suicide) parents using all sorts of language around their kids watching rated r movies and the kids bring that language to school and try and bring the KILLING/SHOOTING video games to life its scary to me and private schools always have a high percentage of passing students (i dont like things to be super strict i wont lie) but suspension is way to common now days kids do bad things because they know they will be suspended i like the old fashion discipline lol fill the lines up with your name on paper front and back lol
Hello Looney-
Both of my children are fine products of a private parochial (Jewish) primary school. They received a wonderful secular education along with their religious training.
The money I spent for this superior education was substantial, but was worth every penny.
When it came time for them to enter secondary school, I gave them the choice of continuing in parochial school of going to our really good public schools. They both selected public school, primarily for broader extra curricular activities and to meet new people. (They could still see their old friends at synagogue and other community activities.)
I believe this combination (parochial primary, and public secondary) provides an excellent mix of religious and secular education along with a broad interpersonal experience.

Often I've seen the argument here on these forums about the state of our children's education. Almost always ignoring the fact that the pandemic will have impacts on proficiency scores for years to come. But what of our nations adults? Adults represented by every generation after the millennials....

Why Do Parents Send Their Children To Christian Schools?I personally think that each person should have to choice to partake in any (or no) religion of their choosing. It is a very personally matter that should be made individually. So it really bugs me when evangelical parents send their kids to...

Are public schools still important? Are charter schools and privatization the future? Does it even affect the country's role in the world economy?

1. There is no way on earth that all the kids in public schools now could be placed in private schools/homes. There are no where near enough places for them. If you don't provide for all of them...what are you setting the American future up for? Disaster.2. Private schools have waiting lists. If a...

Should grade schools in the US be more challenging academically and creatively? Are you satisfied with what your kids are learning at school?
