   Children represent a significant time and financial investment. Parents often say that they live their lives for their children and it can be easy to see how they forgo everything else to care for their kids. The balance of this is the love for and from the child. It's a rewarding experience even though it's a lot of hard work. For people who do not have children, it can be harder to see the benefit side of things (other than 'babies are cute'). In other words, you can't miss someone you've never met. So you can't necessarily know the rewarding side of having children until you've had them.
   
   So, some couples might decide not to have children because they like the way their lives are currently, rather than they don't want their potential children. It's all about living the life you want to lead, and in some cases that doesn't involve becoming parents. It's not a negative choice it's just different.

   It depends on a few factors ..can you afford to take the responsibility of caring for a child? Is your partner fertile? (Sometimes couples stay childless because one person is medically unfit ...eg..unhealthy sperm count) .. thirdly .. under what circumstances would the child be born into should you even contemplate having one? .
   
   You get my drift? .. Being fertile's not the only reason one should have a child ..it is a big responsibility that goes beyond how hot your loins are

   Looks weird really. Not having children by choice goes against the law of Karma and not something in the long run will give any satisfaction to a individual, who makes such a choice.

   Being fertile doesn't mean that you want to have children.  That is the most inane premise I have ever heard.   We are humans, not unthinking lower life forms who just merely procreate.   Even though people are fertile, they have the intelligence not to act upon it.  Human beings are creators of their lives.  They can decide to have children or NOT.  In less modern eras, people who were fertile HAD children because there were no advanced preventives available; however with advanced preventive technologies, children are an...OPTION.   
   
   Not everyone wants children.  In fact, I DEFINITELY have MORE respect for childfree people than people who incessantly & mindlessly produce children w/o thought, consigning such children to poverty, struggle, & deprivation.  Those are the SELFISH ones who could care less about the outcome of their children.  They have used their fertility to have children that they cannot take care of, educated, nor give them a quality of life.  At least childfree people put a lot of thought in their decision while those who incessantly produce....DON'T........
