First, what kind of Indian are you referring to? American Indian? You would need to find out, possibly from living relatives in which generation they believe the Indian to be introduced. Depending how far back it is, there are census records, and tribal rolls where you can find an ancestor. You would have to determine the generation to actually get a percentage of Indian in you. My husbands grandfather was half Blackfoot which makes my husband 1/8 Blackfoot Indian and my children 1/16. Of course, there is always DNA tests that can be done for relatively inexpensive now.
