    Is it possible for a family to make it on Minimum wage?

    Has the stay at home mom become extinct in America?

    How big is the family, how many of them are earning minimum wage, what are their fixed expenses, and what do you mean by "make it?"

    I guess the answer is a definite maybe, until we replace some variables with some known quantities.

    You can do anything in this world that you want
    or need to do.All you have to do is want to,see the need,
    and go for it.
    Of course you have to cut back,and sweeze a little.
    It's a "no brainer"to one that don't have HIGH STANDARDS
    that take a rich mans salary in order to be satified.
    Take it as it come,and call it like you see it,and live a
    quite life.

    Here are the variables
    Minimum wage is $7.25
    There are 4 in my Family and my month expenses are around $2800.00 a month... that is rent, insurance for vehicles, car payment, Gas, Food, Light bill etc.

    Can we even pay our minimum bills on $7.25 an hr.

    In todays economy the answer is NO!  The minimum wage has not kept up with the average wage and is terribly lacking so much so that the average family must go on some form os public assistance and this only allows the family to exist on a bare bones platform.

    Boy, I sure wouldn't want to be in that position.  Not if they are out on their own.  They would have to live in an area, that probably would not be very good for their family.   I would have to say, it would really be tough.
