Chapter One: Life

Life is crazy, difficult, eventful, and exciting. Life is a journey. Deciding what you do on that journey is completely up to you. Thousands of people wake up each day unhappy with their lives. Are you falling into that category? Are you one of those people? You feel that no matter what you do, at the end of the day your life seems like a failure. Whether you are dwelling on that homework assignment that is due at midnight, or enraged about waking up early to go to your miserable job, are you unhappy? If so, change it.

We all want to live a perfect life. We all want to succeed. We all want to be married to Mr. Right or Mrs. Perfect. We all want beautiful children who play a great deal of sports. We all want loyal friends who come over every Friday night for drinks and pizza while our kids play together like the "good" children they are. Sadly, that life is not so perfect. We all have problems. Life is nothing but problems. Some might say God has a plan for us and others might say that is just the way it goes, and God does not determine anything. It does not matter what you believe or what anyone says. Just keep going. Life is a journey filled with lessons, hardships, heartaches, joys, celebrations, and special moments that will ultimately lead us to our purpose in life. The road will not always be smooth; in fact, it will never be smooth. Throughout our travels, we will encounter many challenges. These challenges are going to make you want to give up and they are going to tear you apart. Just remember that it is only a test. Either a test from God or a test from humanity. It is a test to show our courage and strength. If something does not go your way you can either dwell on it and let it destroy you; or you can move on.

Throughout this crazy adventure you are living, remember that happiness is within you. If you are working towards that happiness do not let anything get in the way. To those who have absolutely no idea what to do with your life, you will find out eventually. To those who are going through a miserable break up, it will be worth the pain in the end. To those who hate your career; set a goal and work hard to achieve that goal until you are doing something that you love. To those who are lost, you will find the path you are supposed to be on. Time will heal everything. Do not dwell on the past, and do not dream of the future. Concentrate on what is right in front of you. Live your life day by day and see where it takes you. In the end, happiness will be there waiting...
