Hello.  I am new here and some of the tips said to dive right in and start posting on the forums....so here I am.  I am the mother of two small boys.  My youngest one is deaf; we found out when he was 3 months old.  His birth and his medical diagnosis has changed our lives.  I am hoping to write about it.  I am not really sure how this whole thing works.  I have been a part of a forum community before and I know how things work smile  If anyone has any tips for me that would be great!  I can't wait to look around and check things out.

Welcome Christina. My niece is totally deaf and she is a very special and wonderful person. She grew up hearing and then she got tumors. Here is a picture of her as a young girl.

She was a medical pioneer for about 6 years with a PABI implant. She has had many challenges but is a bookworm and has a growing library. She is a movie person too and has tons of dvds. She is very good with little children. She now works at Target as a cashier.

Recently Katie sent this link about NF2 and I thought you might be touched with it. Feel free to share it with others.

Welcome to HubPages! I can't offer any advice, but I look forward to reading your Hubs and, I'm sure, someone here has experienced what you are going through. Try using the search feature. You may find some hubs about deaf children. Good luck smile

Wow...feel the love...lol.  I do have a guick question, although I am sure I am asking it in the wrong place...I have written several papers and I would like to make them hub topics.  I have used several sources for these papers and need to give credit.  How do I do this?  Just list the sources at the end (although they are also in the text of the paper)?  Any help would be awsome!

Hi, my husband is deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other, (no joke, tho it sounds like it could be), and one of my children had severe health problems that led to kidney failure and two transplants, but he is not a little one anymore, but a grownman.  Still, I can relate to having an ill child and what it does to parents, and to any kind of normal family life.
If you ever need anyone to talk to, or feel like just venting even, you can write me anytime, I usually check my email every day, so feel free.  My email address is:   dbsurfsca@netzero.com
I know how it can be, for I went through most of my problems with my kids by myself as a single mom.  so I am here for any support I can give if you need it.  and welcome to hubpages
