'Dosa' is the world-famous south Indian recipe.This easy to make recipe have more than 100 types of varieties.Here i am sharing how to make dosa and five varieties of it.These are healthy and delicious that everyone like to eat and share with your loved ones.

How to Make Dosa
Ingredients for dosa batter:
- 3 cups Idili Rice
- 1 cup Whole white urad dal
- 1 Cup Rice, Cooked
- As required Salt
- For soaking Water
Preparation of batter:
- Soak the rice and urad in water taken in separate vessels for 6 hours.
- First grind the soaked urad dal to a fine smooth batter.While ginding add required amount of water to make it very smooth.
- Now grind the soaked rice along with cooked rice into smooth batter by adding required amount of water.Don't make the batter too watery.
- Now mix these two batters in a bowl and place covered for 12 hours.
- After fermentation add little salt and mix well.Now the batter is ready.
Making of Dosa:
- Heat a pan, spray some oil.
- Take batter in a big spoon , pour it to the pan and spread in round shape.
- When one side in cooked, turn upside down and cook.
- Take it and serve hot with cold coconut chutney.
- Repeat the procedure for the remaining batter.
1.Masala Dosa
Masala dosa is one of the favourite variety of dosa commonly taken as breakfast in south India.It is a easy to make recipe by filling potato mixture inside dosa.
Ingredients Required:
- Potatoes-3-4ns
- Onion chopped- 1ns
- Green chilly,chopped-2ns
- Chopped Ginger-1/4ns
- Turmeric powder-1tspn
- Salt-as required
- Oil
- Mustard-1tspn
- Curry leaves-1 branch
Making:
- Pressure cook the washed potatoes for 2-3 whistles. Peel of the skin and smash the potato using a spoon.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the Mustard seeds and curry leaves
- Now add chopped onion,Chopped green chilly,ginger,salt and turmeric powder,fry for 2 minutes.
- Now add Smashed potatoes to it and fry for another 2 minutes,add little water if needed and place aside.
- Now take dosa batter and spread it on a hot pan in a very thin round shape. Drizzle some oil and when one side is cooked,put a scoop of potato mixture on it .
- Fold the dosa to half and serve hot with chutney.
2.Bread Dosa Recipe
Ingredients Required:
- Bread-6 pieces
- Rice flour-2tbspn
- Rava-1/4 cup
- Yoghurt-2tbspn
- Chopped onion-1ns
- Chopped Green chilly-3ns
- Curry leaves-1branch
- Salt- to taste
Making Steps:
- Blend bread,rice flour,rava and yoghurt in a blender.
- Mix this with the dosa batter(earlier explained) and remaining ingredients. Add water if needed.
- Heat a dosa tava or non-stick pan,spray some oil and spread the dosa batter in circular motion. When one side is ready turn it down and cook the other side.
- When it turns to golden brown,take off from pan and serve with coconut chutney.
- Do the same for remaining dosa batter.
3.Tomato Dosa Recipe
Ingredients Required:
- Dosa Batter-3cup
- Tomatoes-4ns
- Green chillies,chopped-2ns
- Red chilli powder-1/4tspn
- Salt- a pinch
- Oil-2tbsn
- Coriander leaves,Chopped -10ns
Making Method:
- Blend or Mix the Chopped tomatoes with Dosa batter into fine paste.
- Heat a dosa tava or non-stick pan,spray some oil and spread this dosa batter in circular motion. Cook dosa from both sides.
- Serve this crispy hot dosa with chutney or Sambar.
4.Paneer Dosa Recipe
Ingredients Required:
- Paneer(cottage cheese),grated-200gms
- Onions,chopped-2ns
- Tomato,chopped-1ns
- Curry leaves-10ns
- Green chillies,chopped-3ns
- Turmeric powder-1/2tspn
- salt-a pinch
- Oil-2spn
- Mustard seeds-1spn
Making Method:
- Heat oil in a pan,and cook mustard seeds,onions,green chillies and turmeric powder.Then add Chopped tomatoes and cook further for 2minutes.
- Add grated paneer to it and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Now make dosa as earlier mentioned and when one side is ready fill with the prepared paneer filling and roll it.
5.Healthy Vegetable Dosa
Ingredients Required:
- Carrots chopped-1ns
- Peas,chopped-1cup
- Beans,chopped-3ns
- Tomato,chopped-1ns
- Onion,chopped-1ns
- Curry leaves-7ns
- Green chillies,chopped-3ns
- Mustard seeds-1tspn
- Turmeric powder-1tspn
- Oil-3tbspn
- Salt-as required
Making Method:
- Heat 2tbspn in a pan ,add Mustard seeds,onions,curry leaves and green chillies.Fry for 2minutes.
- Add all the fine chopped vegetables to it and cook for another 5minutes or more till it cooked.
- Fill this in the dosa and roll it.
