Sausage Variations

Try using preseasoned sausage or healthy varieties to add spice and flavor

  • Cajun Sausage

  • Beer Braised Sausage

Instructions

  1. Slice Italian sausage and place into medium size saucepan. Cook on stove with low-med heat.
  2. Add frozen green beans to pan with Italian sausage. Cook until sausage is golden brown, approximately 8-10 minutes. Stir frequently.
  3. While sausage and green beans are cooking, prepare the rice.

  6. Enjoy!!

Change the Recipe to Suit You!

One of the things I love about this recipe is its versatility. You can add optional ingredients if you don't care about the number of ingredients or you can substitute with different types of sausage to keep it at three ingredients. Here is a list of ingredients that I have added to the recipe at one time or another.

Optional Ingredients:

  • Chopped Garlic
  • Chopped Onions
  • Red Bell Peppers

Substitions

  • Turkey or Chicken Sausage
  • Bratwurst
  • Chorizo
  • Fresh Green Beans

Note: When adding or substituting ingredients you may have to alter the cook time to suit the changes.

I actually make something similar to this only I use Quinoa or Couscous instead of white rice.

I wasn't lookin for this recipe but clicked on the wrong link. I'm glad I did. I used Cajun sausage and the spiciness worked out well.

The first time I tried it with Jimmy Dean breakfast sausages because that's what we had in the fridge. Not a good idea. I definitely recommend using the big links like the Cajun flavored or the Beer Braised. I think I'm going to try it with Andouille sausage next.
