An Easy Chocolate Mousse Recipe
This is a quick and easy chocolate mousse recipe. It is very simple to make and only uses four ingredients. The result is a rich and creamy dessert that everyone will enjoy.
There are many chocolate mousse recipes that use raw eggs. This recipe uses eggs that are cooked to avoid the possibility of salmonella contamination.
Four egg yolks
¼ cup of sugar
One cup of semisweet chocolate chips
2 ½ cups heavy whipping cream, divided
Place the four egg yolks in a small mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes, gradually adding the sugar.
In a small sauce pan heat one cup of heavy cream over low heat. Once the cream is warm add the egg yolk mixture and cook for about five minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the chocolate chips and cook until almost melted. Allow to cool completely.
Beat 1 ½ cups of heavy cream in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff. Fold in the chocolate mixture until combined.
Place in server dishes and refrigerate for several hours.
