Bagels are so satisfying. We just have to know what to put on them. If you love bagels, you know what I mean. Bagel lovers will eat them with no topping. If you haven't tried bagels yet, what are you waiting for? Most loaf breads are too soft for me to enjoy.
Bagels give you a good chew , if you know what I mean. The outside is crisp and the inside is a dough with substance, not to light and with body. I was introduced to bagels years ago and I fell in love with them.
New York State has the real bagels unless you make them at home and that was where I was introduced to them. Zabar's bagels located in NYC was my favorite place to purchase my bagels.

Ingredients
- 1 each bagels, sandwich sliced
- as desired cream cheese, spread or cube package
- 1 slice or more tomatoes large, sliced or chopped
- 1 tsp capers
- 1/4 tsp basil, ground
- 1/4 tsp oinions, sliced or chopped
- a portion to cover bagel Nova, Sable,Smoked white fish, sliced thin
- dash dill of weed
Add what you like
Instructions
- Slice your bagel and toast if desired
- Spread the cream cheese to cover bagel. Some people prefer a thin spread of cream cheese.
- Add slices of smoked fish and a sprinkle of dill weed
- Add sliced tomatoes and a sprinkle on basil and add capers and sliced oninons
- OR, mix cream cheese with chopped smoked fish,capers and onions to make a spread. Spread onto the bagels and add the chopped tomatoes and basil.
- There are no limits to what you can put on your bagel, so splurge and try some of your favorite foods on your bagel

Bagels come in many flavors to satisfy your taste buds. You might like other toppings or maybe none. Bagels can be toasted or eaten as they are.
When buying bagels stock up. You will be able to freeze them and they will taste just as fresh as when you purchased them. Just let them defrost and you will be ready to create your famous bagel with topping.
The best bagels are made that same day that you purchase them from your bakery. It is very hard to find a packaged bagel that has the taste of a real bagel.
For those that prefer a closed bagel sandwich, so be it, however you might enjoy it is the key to an enjoyable meal.
