Easy Chicken Or Turkey Pot Pie Recipe

Easy Chicken Or Turkey Pot Pie Recipe

Chicken Pot Pie is another one of my families favorite recipe. However, it can seem as if it were difficult to make. This is an easy chicken pot pie recipe that even kids will love. Trust me, I know. My very picky 12 year old brother and my 1 1/2 year old son absolutely love it. You can substitute the chicken for turkey as well.

Easy Chicken Pot Pie Recipe Ingredients

Ingredients that you will need:

Filling Ingredients:

1 can peas and carrots

3/4 cup chopped onion (I just use a small to medium sized onion)

1/4 cup chicken broth

3 cups cubed cooked chicken (you can get some from Costco in strips)

1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup, don't add water

1 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (If you've read my other recipes then you know I just do a few shakes of the bottle)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

Topping ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoons salt

1/2 cup milk

2 eggs

1 cup shredded cheese, divided

Chicken Pot Pie Recipe Cooking Instructions

Start Cooking:

In a large saucepan, bring the onions and broth to a boil and then let simmer for about 15 minutes until the onions are soft. Remove from the heat and add in the rest of the ingredients for the filling. When mixed well, pour into a greased 2-qt (I use a 2 1/2-qt) baking dish.

For the topping, in a separate large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Then mix in a separate bowl the milk, eggs, and 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup cheese. Mix it into the flour mixture.

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until it is golden brown. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake for 3 minutes longer or until the cheese has melted.

Enjoy!
