Birmingham Farmer's Market July 18, 2010

Birmingham Farmer's Market, July 18, 2010

Here are some photos of the babies, children, dogs, musician, vendors, parents and politicians taken at our usual Sunday visit to pick up our weekly ration of vegetables from Bluewater Organics. I resisted the temptation to have a chair massage. However, I did treat myself to a bratwurst from Frank's Anatra!

Today we were treated to the smooth jazz vocals and instrumentals of Detroit musician Tola Lewis. Click on the link below and you can get a sample of her stuff.

I also had an interesting conversation with Dave Potts who is running for re-election to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. Although Dave is a Republican and I'm a Democrat, we share admiration for William Milliken and neither of us likes the current adversarialism of U.S. and Michigan politics. And we both share a concern over the economy of Oakland County and southeastern Michigan.

As usual, there were plenty of photo-ops of babies, dogs and attractive women. Take a look of some of my pictures below.

I'm assuming this is Birmingham, Michigan. Great pictures, Ralph...really enjoyed the photo-tour. I was born in Detroit and lived a big chunk of my adult life in Oak Park, which is about 10 minutes from Birmingham. Spent a lot of my time there (in Birmingham) shopping and visiting friends, but don't ever remember a wonderful Farmer's Market like this. Thanks for a fun morning at the market.

Thanks for your comment. My recollection is that the Birmingham, Michigan, Farmer's Market started 3 or 4 years ago. Next time you're back in town drop by. Also, Royal Oak has a much bigger indoors farmer's market.
