Boneless skinless chicken thighs can be used for almost any recipe that you would make with chicken breasts and the really great thing is that chicken thighs will only cost you about one third of what chicken breasts will. And I think you will find that you can make anything out of chicken thighs that you can out of chicken breasts.
What you will want to do is to remove the skin from the chicken thighs and you will also want to remove the bone from each chicken thigh. You can then if you wish place your chicken thighs on one sheet of plastic wrap and cover them with another sheet of plastic wrap. If you have a meat hammer used to tenderize meat you can then beat your chicken thighs with the meat hammer and flatten out your chicken thighs.
For Our First Recipe We Are Going To Make Bourbon Chicken
1. Two Pounds Of Chicken Thighs with the skin and bones removed and beat flat.
2. One Cup White Grape Juice.
3. One Half Cup Bourbon.
4. Three Tablespoons Brown Sugar.
5. One Tablespoon Granulated White Sugar.
6. One Teaspoon Ginger Powder.
7. One Teaspoon Garlic Powder.
8. One Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce.
9. Two Tablespoons Teriyaki Sauce.
Now this is a simple recipe. In a large bowl mix together all your ingredients except the chicken and mix all the ingredients together well. Put your chicken into a large zip lock gallon bag and when you have mixed all the ingredients together pour the ingredients in over the chicken and zip up the bag. Put the bag of chicken in the refrigerator overnight and tomorrow when you are ready either grill or pan fry the chicken until the chicken thighs are done. Cut your cooked chicken up into small strips and serve the chicken over a tossed salad. I guarantee you that you'll have a delicious meal.
Asian Barbecued Chicken Thighs
Here is another delicious recipe that is easy to make and oh so delicious. Prepare your chicken thighs as above and then you will want to prepare the below marinade for your Asian Barbecued Chicken Thighs.
1. One Fourth Cup Brown Sugar.
2. One Fourth Cup Soy Sauce.
3. One Tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice.
4. One Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper.
5. One Teaspoon Curry Powder.
6. One Teaspoon White Granulated Sugar.
7. One Tablespoon Minced Fresh Garlic.
Now you will want to mix all your ingredients 1 - 7 together in a large bowl and stir together very well. Now place your chicken into a gallon zip lock bag and pour in all your ingredients over the chicken. Zip the bag closed and place it into the refrigerator over night. The next day either grill your chicken thighs or cook them in some oil in a skillet. Once your chicken thighs are done cut your chicken into thin strips and serve either over white rice or over a toss salad. You will have some of the best Asian Barbecue Chicken that you will ever eat. It is so delicious.
You can serve the chicken from either of the two recipes over white rice or you can make a simple toss salad and serve toss salad on a plate with either of the chicken recipes served over the tossed salad. I guarantee you that people will love the chicken cooked either way or if you're feeling really festive you can make the chicken both ways and serve it over a toss salad for a dinner party.
I love to save money and the chicken thighs turn out really well in the above two recipes. If you don't tell them any different a lot of people think they are eating chicken breast.
Taco Chicken Salad
You can make a delicious Taco Chicken Salad by preparing two pounds of chicken thighs and once you have your chicken thighs prepared sprinkle them with a package of dry taco seasoning and then grill or pan fry your chicken thighs sprinkled with the taco seasoning and cook your chicken thighs until they are done. Now what you will want to do is to cut your cooked chicken up into very thin strips and serve it over a tossed salad and you now have a taco chicken salad.
You can serve guacamole, sour cream, and your favorite salsa on the side and I bet you people will tell you that it is one of if not the best chicken taco salads that they have ever had. I keep my tossed salads for this very simple with lettuce, tomato, onion, and Mexican cheese and let people add their own guacamole, sour cream, or salsa. I make some of the best chicken tacos almost the same exact way and people love them.
Grilled Jerk Chicken
Any page on chicken thighs just has to have a recipe on Jerked Chicken. Jerk Chicken Seasoning is a delightful blend of chiles, garlic, onion, allspice, thyme, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Be sure to use the freshest spices possible. Not something that has been setting in the back of your spice cabinet for a year or two.
For Your Grilled Jerked Chicken You Will Need
1. Three Green Onions Including Tops diced up fine.
2. One Tablespoon Minced Garlic diced fine.
3. One Small Sweet Onion diced fine.
4. Four Jalapenos With The Seeds Removed and diced fine.
5. One Fourth Cup Of Fresh Lime Juice.
6. Three Tablespoons Soy Sauce.
7. Three Tablespoons Olive Oil.
8. One Tablespoon Ground Sea Salt.
9. Two Tablespoons Brown Sugar.
10. One Tablespoon Fresh Thyme Leaves.
11. Two Teaspoons Fine Ground Allspice.
12. One Teaspoon Nutmeg.
13. Two Teaspoons Black Pepper.
14. One Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon.
Place all your ingredients into a food processor and blend everything together very well. Take two pounds of chicken thighs that you have removed the skin and bones from and beaten flat and place it into a gallon zip lock bag. Pour your jerk seasoning into the bag with the chicken and shake very well.
Place your chicken into the refrigerator over night and the next day you will want to grill your chicken or cook it in a skillet in a little oil. This chicken is delicious served by its self or with rice and beans. Either way I guarantee you that it will be oh so delicious.
