Healthy and Yummy Salad Dressing Recipe
Tastes Great Fresh Salad Dressing
We've been going to a Holistic M.D. who tells us that the amount of chemicals and toxins in packaged and prepared foods is killing us all! So, we decided to start eliminating most of these food-like products and started preparing our own from organic, healthy ingredients.
It's a lot easier than you think!.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar (the best you can afford)
3/4 cup Grape Seed or Sesame Seed oil (or olive oil)
1 Clove (not bulb!) Garlic
1/4 Small red onion
1/3 Fresh Avocado (peeled)
1/3 tsp Sea salt (or to taste)
cracked pepper
Dash of Cayenne pepper
Honey to taste - I use 1 tsp.. honey
An immersion blender is best to use because it will chop up the garlic in tiny bits. Or a regular blender. If you have neither, put all the ingredients (except the avocado and garlic) in a bottle or jar and shake it vigorously. MAKE SURE THE LID IS ON TIGHT! (don't ask). You can mince the garlic and avocado by hand. However, a blender makes for a very creamy salad dressing.
Store leftover dressing in the fridge - use within a day or two (I've kept mine longer, but just be careful.
