Casa Italia restaurant: best value Italian food in Liverpool.
Casa Italia Restaurant Liverpool Review
Casa Italia is a small Italian restaurant in the heart of Liverpool city centre. It's been in it's present location for many years and is a firm favourite with lovers of italian food.
If you go in the early evening be prepared to queue. They don't take reservations. We arrived about 6pm after work and had to queue. But we only waited for perhaps twenty minutes before being ushered to a table in the corner with a view of the whole room.
The table cloths are plastic with a red gingham like check. That gives the clue that Casa Italia isn't in the high class end of the restaurant league. But they are busy and serve good food at a reasonable price and a plastic table cloth is a sensible, practical way of keeping a clean table with a high throughput of customers.
We were offered drinks as soon as we sat down. I had a Peroni and my partner a sparkling mineral water. The waiter took care to get me a cold glass for the beer, a nice touch. The Casa Italia waiters were all men, as is quite often the norm in italian restaurants. Most of them were italian and spoke with that lovely Chico Marx 'hey get your Tutti Frutti ice a cream here' twang.
All in all the service was fast and efficient and friendly, the food was very tasty and filling and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Everything you could want for a meal out. As a couple we were returning to the first restaurant we went to on a date, and it's a very safe place to take a lady for a date – no surprises, good value, great ambiance.

Casa Italia - be prepared for large helpings
As we were on a voucher deal (from Wowcher.com £9.50 meal for two worth £24) we were offered a shared garlic bread starter and anything from the pasta and pizza menu. I ordered spaghetti bolognase and my partner had canelloni.
The garlic bread arrived in no time, hot and steaming. We had one bite and realised it was plain bread but we had ordered cheese bread. Almost at the same time the waiter came back realising his mistake and gave us another cheese bread without a quibble. So we were pretty nearly full before the mains arrived.
My plate arrived with a mountain of spaghetti and bolognase mince. Very tasty and very filling. The canelloni was fresh baked with bechamel sauce with tomato and herbs. There was so much I couldn't quite finish mine and that's saying something.
Casa Italia - relaxed ambiance and service with a smile
The restaurant is in one large room with the kitchen at one end. The lighting is subdued and warm and the constant crowd of customers create a cosy hubub. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.
Service was fast, efficient and friendly and the waiters were attentive but allowed you to enjoy your meal without being constantly interrupted. A mark of experience I think. As a couple we were returning to the first restaurant we went to on a date, and it's a very safe place to take a lady for a date – no surprises, good value, great ambiance.
The Casa Italia has everything you could want for a pleasant, filling, good value eating experience, and I could recommend it to anyone..

They say you learn from your mistakes and there is no harder school than do-it -yourself plumbing. The following constitutes my own personal plumbing comedy of errors.
By using garden membrane, raised beds and fresh soil and compost you can have a low maintenance, relatively weed free allotment, that you can manage on an hour a week.
