Great Catfish and Other Things Too!

On this Friday evening, my husband and I decided to eat dinner at one of the local Austin Restaurants. Catfish Parlor is known in this area for its relaxed atmosphere and good cooking. We usually visit the North Location.

The Decor

The decor is bright and entertaining with all types of items pinned to the walls. Flamingos, fishing signs, Burma Shave ads - all add to the clutter of knick-knacks surrounding the tables. The entry way is covered with business cards from floor to ceiling. Thousands of them have been collected over the years.

You'll Love The Food

Hush puppies are served with the beverages. A jalapeno tartar sauce has been added to the selection in past years to complement the warm cornbread delicacies. For the faint hearted, regular tartar sauce is available.

The menu carries a wide assortment of selections from chicken, chicken fried steak, shrimp and oysters to catfish. You can get your catfish spicy, regular or broiled. A caesar salad bar complements all meals. With the dinner orders, a bowl of beans and cole slaw is served and ready to be filled as it empties. The cole slaw is excellent. Many of the meals are accompanied with french fries or rice to complement your order.

For dessert, the cobblers are excellent. Tonights' choices included peach or blackberry cobbler. I was tempted to dig into a blackberry cobbler, but stood firm and resisted. The service this evening was excellent. All of our needs were met with a smile!

If you haven't been to Catfish Parlor, give it a try! More information can be found on the link in this hub. All three locations are listed - North, South and Georgetown. Have fun!

Cobblers are so good! Blackberry is not offered all the time, so it is a special treat! Have a great day Pamela and thanks for stopping by!

Paula, That sounds like some food by husband would die for. And cobblers, I'm no sure I would have stood firm on that one as both flavors sound perfect.
