This sounds like a light rum soup. It reads so good, I would think of it as a cold weather soup as well with seasonal ingredients and dark rum. David Russell

I've never heard of rum soup, before. This sounds like a great summer dish for really muggy summer days, when you want a complete meal, but you don't want to cook much. A bowl of soup with crackers, and you're set for most of the day.

up!

Oh man... I could do like a gallon of these at the beach. Less the butter and the cream and the saute'.

Thanks everyone for the comments. This does work in just about any weather, but as it gets colder, you would probably want to take down the chill a bit.
