Cookbook Review: WomenHeart's All Heart Family Cookbook

Are you looking for delicious and heart healthy recipes? The WomenHeart'sAll Heart Family Cookbook is packed with 175 heart-healthy recipes. The recipes in this innovative cookbook are built around 40 super foods recognized for their ability to increase heart health. More than just a recipe book, WomenHeart'sAll Heart Family Cookbook is packed with informative facts designed to educate women about foods that promote heart health while at the same time raising awareness of the growing problem of heart disease.

The idea behind WomenHeart'sAll Heart Family Cookbook is to teach people what they should eat rather than providing strict guidelines about what they can't have. According to Kathy Kastan, past president of WomenHeart and one of the book's authors, "Unlike so many books today that tell people what not to eat, our cookbook shows women how to protect their hearts and enhance their health by adding delicious foods to their life."

This book features delicious recipes that anyone will enjoy, but the message of heart health is emphasized throughout the publication. The book's introduction provides a great deal of important information about heart disease, risk factors, and the impact diet and exercise have on heart health.

Following the introduction, the book goes into detail about the 40 heart healthy super foods highlighted throughout the recipes in the book. These super foods include items like: avocados, bananas, berries, bran, dark chocolate, shitake mushrooms, nuts, salmon, tea, tomatoes, and many others.

If course, the recipes are the focal point of the book. No matter what type of food you like, you won't be disappointed. There are a wide variety of dishes, with easy to follow instructions, accompanied by stunning food photography of the finished product. The recipes in this book are fabulous, which means that your family won't even have to know that you are serving them heart healthy meals.

I come from a family with a long history of heart disease. After losing my father to heart disease years ago and having the pleasure of being the only one of my siblings who has never had heart surgery or a heart attack, knowing that meals are heart healthy is a great benefit to me and my family. I'll be sharing what I learned from this book with the rest of my family.
