The Start of Foil Cooking

,,,,,,,,The use foil cooking has been around for a very long time it was started by French chefs many years ago but during those times aluminum had not been used for cooking they used parchment paper with great results but when aluminum foil came along it really changed the structure of cooking this way, the foil made it more like a sow cooker and a pressure all wrapped up in one because the heat of the foil made it so much easier to get the food done.

What I like about cooking with foil is when you wrap the food in the foil it seals in the flavor and it really cooks the food nice and even and it is a great set it and forget it meal that your family and friends will love time after time s follow me as I show you how I prepare a cooking in foil wrap.


Cooking With Foil

It dose not matter what you call it foil wraps, pouches or packets it is one of the best things I have come across since sliced bread for many reasons and it dose not matter if your inside your house or outside on your b.b.q. grill it is just have so many uses.

One of the best things about cooking with foil is you can make so many different meals and each and everyone can be done either inside or outside of the house and it make for less clean up no pots or pans that alone is enough to try it all you need is some heavy duty aluminum foil my oven or my grill and then you can create what ever you want.

What I like about aluminum foil it can used for hot and cold things you can make a foil wrap place it in the freezer then use it as you want ...from the freezer to the oven or grill to the table just like that super simple and easy as 123....It gets no better than that.

What I want to do in this blog is show you different ways to make some great tasting foil packed meals that you your family and finds will enjoy for years to come so to begin you need to know how to wrap your food items in your aluminum foil, it's really easy to make so lets get started.

How to Make a Foil Pack on the Grill

What I like about cooking my food in foil is that you can cook them in the house in the oven or you can use them on my grill but what I like about them the most in the chill of the cold winter nights I can fire up my gas grill and make my foil packet then put it on the grill so it can do it's thing it's like a set it and forget oven just let that foil do the cooking for you it is just that easy.

One of the things that I like to do in the foil wrap is popcorn my kids really love the way the whole thing works out from start to finish so what I am going to do is share with you the way I make popin hot tasty popcorn right on the grill using the aluminum foil wrap method

Foil Wrap Popcorn On The Grill

Ingredients

1 9 inch aluminum pie pan

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

1/4 cup of popcorn kernels

1 teaspoon of sea salt

1 piece of heavy duty aluminum foil - enough to cover the pie pan

1 pair of long handle tongs

Method

To begin combine using your pie pan pour in your popcorn then your oil into the pie pan ...using a spoon move the kernels around to make sure all of the kernels are covered wrap the pie pan in the foil but giving the pie enough space so the popcorn has enough room to pop.

Set your grill on a high heat then place the popcorn on the grill using your tongs shake he pie pan using the tongs until the popcorn stops popping that should take between 8 to 10 minutes.

Remove from the grill poke a hole on top let out the hot air then open an enjoy.

Cooking Shrimp Wrapped In Foil

When it comes to the types of seafood that I like to cook in a foil wrap my favorite would be either Shrimp or Salmon because they are really easy to work with plus you can add almost any flavor profile to them but today were going to talk about cooking shrimp in a foil wrap.

What i going to share with you is a simple but tasty jerk shrimps the good things is you can buy everything from your local store so follow me as i show you how I make jerk shrimp wrapped in foil.


Jerk Chicken Wings

Ingredients

1/2 pound of large shrimps unpeeled

2 tablespoons of jerk seasoning

1i4 stick of butter

Juice of a half lemon

Methods

To begin take a 1/2 pound of fresh shrimp rinsed well then lay out your foil, using a large bowl add your shrimp and 2 tablespoons of jerk seasoning and then the juice of half of lemon mix well then place in he middle of our foil at this point add a 1/4 stick of butter then wrap your shrimp in the foil wrapper then grill over high heat for minutes until the shrimps are done.

Remove the shrimp from the grill poke a few hole in the foil so the heat can release the open and serve and enjoy. I served my jerk shrimps on top of a bed of white rice it was a great addition to my meal.

Asian Style Ribs Cooked In A Foil Wrap

One on my favorite meats to do in a foil wrap is ribs because they really make the ribs tender and super juicy the foil wrap and then heat it makes really seals in the flavor and makes then tender as well so what I want to share with you is my recipe for foil wrapped ribs that I know you will love.

Asian Style Ribs

Ingredients

2 pounds of baby back ribs

1/3 cup of peach preserves

4 tablespoons of hoisin sauce

1/4 teaspoon of sea salt

1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper

2 tablespoons of sriracha sauce

Methods

To begin get out two sheets of heavy duty aluminum foil enough to cover your ribs, mix all of your ingredients together coat your ribs very well then place on your foil then wrap to form a packet

Grill over indirect heat turning occasionally for one hour then remove from the grill then set aside poke a few holes to release some of the heat open and serve.

Unusual Uses for Aluminum Foil Tin Foil for Preppers

In this video below I want to share with you different uses for aluminum foil by Healthy Pepper I really thinks it is helpful.....here is what they are talking about.


It's always a good idea to think out of the box in any SHTF situation. Common every day items like aluminum foil have many uses for preppers and survivalists alike :)

Here are a few that might come in handy in any apocalyptic pinch :)

1. Make your own tin foil hat! :)

2. Fold foil into an makeshift cup, pan, pot, bowl or plate.

3. Fire starter extender: cotton ball ( or dryer lint) plus petroleum jelly makes a great fire starter - place this combination on a piece of foil to greatly extend the power and life of your fire starter :)

4. Signal mirror

5. Pot scrubber or BBQ grill cleaner

6. Fire Reflector: to radiate more heat your way plus it helps shield your fire from observers

7. Sharpen scissors

8. Fix loose batteries - fold a small piece of foil and tuck it into the space between the coil and the battery

9. Protect tree trunks from deer etc - wrap foil around trunk.

10. Make a steam pouch or baking pouch to cook in or over camp fires.

11. Improvised frying pan with a Y shaped stick and foil wrapped across the top of the Y to make a flat surface to cook upon.

12. Foil reflector behind any light source like a candle or lantern will amplify the light.

13. Wrap matches in foil to keep them dry from sweat.

14. Make foil fishing lures: wrap foil around fish hook and fray the edges to simulate movement.

15. Make funnel out of foil.

16. Wind screen for alcohol stove or Coleman stove.

17. Impromptu lid

18. Makeshift antenna

19. Insulate Windows

So remember tin foil when packing your bug out bag - you never know how it just might come in handy :)

Meatballs Cooked In A Cupcake Foil Wrap Pan

Since I started this article about cooking with aluminum foil I have told you how much I really like cooking this way but what I want to do is share with you one of my most favorite recipes using aluminum foil. The good thing about aluminum foil is that it can be use to make almost anything and when making my meatballs I used a aluminum foil cup cake pan to cook my meatballs and it turned out so great you just have to try them.

Meatballs Cooked In A Cupcake Foil Wrap Pan

Ingredients

1 pound of ground beef

1 medium egg

1/4 cup of panko breadcrumbs

1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon of granulated garlic

1/4 teaspoon of sea salt

1/4 teaspoon of smoked black pepper

1/4 cup of tomato sauce

2 aluminum foil cupcake foil pans

2 pieces of heavy duty aluminum foil

Methods

Using a large bowl add the ground beef and all of the rest other ingredients mix well to combine then roll yourself 1 1/2 inch balls then place I meatball into each cupcake tin the cover the cupcake tins with aluminum foil then place on the grill over high heat and cook for 35 to 45 minutes remove from the grill and remove the foil cover slowly then serve and enjoy.
