Vegetarian recipes with soy products
vegetarian recipes and vegetarian meals for meat lovers
Many people become vegetarians for health reasons or for ethical reasons. Some miss the hearty stick-to-your-ribs taste and texture of real meat, however, while trying to maintain a strict vegan diet. By incorporating textured soy protein into your dishes, you can have the best of both worlds - the taste of real meat and the benefits of soy. I hope my suggestions for a few vegetarian recipes will give you some ideas. Keep in mind that my husband and I aren't vegetarians, but we still love these vegetarian recipes! I like to use the soy crumbles because they're so quick and easy - no standing over the stove to brown ground beef.
Several companies market soy products, and one of the most adaptable is Morning Star Farms' Meal Starters, found in the frozen food section at many grocery stores across the country. Meal Starters looks and tastes like cooked, crumbled ground beef and can be used in almost any recipe that requires hamburger meat or ground beef.
Other soy products I like to use are Soy patties and Soy sausage. I especially like the Italian sausage links made from soy. sometimes we grill the soy sausage links for sausage dogs, and sometimes i slice the sausages to add to spaghetti sauce and other dishes. They're also great sauteed in a skillet with sliced onions and bell peppers.

Or, if you prefer, pop them in the microwave for a minute or two to thaw before adding to your dish. You can also heat the soy crumbles in the microwave with taco seasoning for tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. The soy crumbles make vegetarian recipes and vegetarian meals a snap, and the soy has lots of healthy protein. for any recipe that calls for crumbled ground beef, use the soy crumbles, instead. It's that simple!
Meal Starters will keep for months in the freezer, so they're great to keep on hand for quick, easy, healthy meals. The soy sure is a lot quicker and easier than using real ground beef.
