Chinese Noodles (Indo Chinese) Recipe

Is your mouth watering yet looking at some of these videos and great looking pictures of Chinese food?

Perhaps you or your home cook recipient could use some Chinese utensils to help with the task of following those Chinese food recipes? Many of the utensils can be used for other types of food as well.

That large spider spoon is great for scooping not only Chinese rice noodles or won-tons out of boiling water, but also vegetables and other things. It is truly a multipurpose and handy device to have in one's kitchen.

Perhaps you wish to learn how to use chopsticks if it is not already second nature to you? For those of us who normally use a knife and fork, using chopsticks...especially in the beginning. ..takes some practice! I vividly remember my first few times of trying to master the use of chopsticks! It certainly slowed down my calorie intake! Very little of anything except the larger chucks of vegetables made it to my mouth! Gradually I got a little more proficient with using them and have not tried using them in a while.

Perhaps that should be my diet New Year resolution? Only use chopsticks...? Probably not...but it is a thought! Haha!

Summer Rolls and Peanut Dipping Sauce - Appetizer Recipe

Learn to cook...

A friend gave me some rice paper wrappers and told me how she prepared Spring Rolls or Summer Rolls as they refer to them in the video above.

I love eating them as an appetizer in Chinese restaurants and they are not that difficult to learn how to make.

As the video shows, they become very pliable and the danger if not being gentle in handling them after they have become pliable is that they might tear. That aside, Spring Rolls can pretty much contain whatever one wishes to put into them.

Besides the Chinese rice noodles I have even used Top Ramen noodles (minus the spice packet) if I did not have the other noodles on hand.

Other ingredients that can be put into these Spring rolls include such things as slivered table onions, shredded carrots, shredded lettuce, little bits of thin little slices or slivers of already cooked chicken, pork, shrimp or other source of protein, lemon grass, mint leaves, basil leaves, slivers of cucumber and other things as well.

Choose from what you like and vary it for different flavor profiles.

Your imagination is the only limiting factor when preparing these fresh tasting Spring Rolls!

Hi Suzanne,

Chinese food is a perennial favorite for many people and Vietnamese food is also good. I have never eaten chicken feet but have eaten pigs feet many years ago. I would give it a try as I am rather adventurous with my eating.

I'm a big fan of Chinese food and even had a Vietnamese boyfriend once! Chicken feet are marvellous if you're feeling adventurous and dumplings are a good all-round favourite to begin with. I like the crunchy vegetables and am thinking about investing in a Japanese teppenyaki grill plate for the stove so I can have the veggies cooked easily. Voted awesome!

Hi Rajan,

Chinese food if one avoids the fried versions of it is really healthy. I think that most people like it and armed with a few good recipes it is easy to learn how to cook it. I do a lot of improvising with my stir fried creations depending upon what I have on hand. Thanks for your votes & share.
