Barbecue sauce is delicious any time of the year with with burgers, potato wedges and with fries. If you are on a raw vegan diet you might miss the taste of rich, tangy barbecue sauce. However, it is possible to make a healthy, vegan friendly alternative to store bought barbecue sauce. You do not need expensive, hard to find ingredients either, and it is quick and easy to prepare.
What you Need:
1 Cup Sun Dried tomatoes (make sure you soak your tomatoes in cool water for a couple of hours beforehand)
1 dried red chilli pepper
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 cup fresh tomato chopped
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nama shoyu or tamari
1 clove garlic
2 teaspoons chilli powder
It is very easy to make this delicious barbecue sauce. All you have to do is put all the ingredients into the blender with ½ cup sun dried tomato soak water. Blend all the ingredients together until fully smooth. This is cheap, quick and easy to prepare, enjoy your delicious homemade, healthy barbecue sauce.
