Hot Chicken Dip Recipe, Made With Creamy Velveeta

Another Good Crock Pot Cheese Dip With Velveeta

So, Velveeta is one of my favorite foods. I love it on everything and I love making things with it, especially dips and soups. After posting my Cheesy Chicken Potato Soup Recipe with Velveeta, I am now going to give this easy recipe for Chicken Cheese Dip with Velveeta.

It is similar to the Velveeta Chili and Cheese Dip Recipe. If you haven't tried this one, please do! It is so yummy! Two crock pot dips that are too easy to make!

Now back to the Hot Chicken Dip. This is a really good appetizer/dip to serve at a party. I have not had one person yet that didn't absolutely love this dip. It is very versatile in that you can change up ingredients like crazy, once you get the basic concept. Really, how can you go wrong when Velveeta is involved anyway? That's right. You can't.

Ingredients

  • 2 Lb. Block Velveeta
  • 1 Jar Salsa, (Your Favorite Kind)
  • 3 Chicken Breast
  • 1 Can (4 oz.) Green Chiles
  • Handful Black Olives, Chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring a pan of water to a boil. Add a big dash of salt and chicken breast to water. Reduce heat to medium/low and cover. Let chicken cook for about 30-35 minutes. Turn heat off and let chicken sit IN the water for about 15 minutes.
  2. While chicken is resting in the water, turn your crock pot on Auto. Start cubing up velveeta into small blocks, and place in crock pot.
  3. Pour in jar of salsa, green chiles and black olives.
  4. Shred chicken into crock pot. Gently stir just to get everything mixed together a little bit.
  5. Cover crock pot with lid and let it do it's thing! You will know when it is done when all of the cheese is melted.

Variation

If you like your dip spicy, then add as many jalapenos as you would like! These are really good in this dip of course. I like to chop the jalapenos up small, but you put them in how you like them.

Add a few shots of Tabasco sauce.

I think spicy food lovers know how to make their food hot. I'm not a huge spicy person, so a few jalapenos is as far as I will go. You add all the hot stuff you like. If you are having a party, I would suggest making half in one crock pot, and half in another for the people that don't like the spicy foods.
