Easy and Tasty Recipes made with Yogurt and Curd
Yogurt is a
rich source of calcium, protein, riboflavin and vitamin B 12. There are
numerous health benefits of eating yogurt. One can make perfect Yogurt by using
an Electric Yogurt Maker. Given below are some easy recipes made of
yogurt like Fruit and Yogurt Recipe, Mango Lassi, Cucumber and Yogurt Salad,
Yogurt Banana Split and Yogurt Chutney. All these can be prepared in less than 30 minutes.
Frozen Fruit and Yogurt Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of your favorite fruit(pineapple, strawberry, mango, banana) which is frozen
- 3/4 cup of chilled yogurt
- 1 cup chilled milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar or a sachet of sugar substitute
Method of Preparation:
Put the chopped fruit pieces along with the other ingredients into a blender and puree them until smooth. Pour into a chilled glass and serve with a straw.
Mango Lassi
Ingredients:
- 3 glasses of yogurt
- Ice Cubes
- 1 Cup ripe mango cut into pieces or pulp
- 1 tsp slivered almonds for each glass
- Sugar/ Sugar Substitute or Honey (optional)
Method of Preparation:
Put all the ingredients except almonds in a blender and blend till smooth. Pour the mixture into a chilled glass and serve after adding almonds on top.
Cucumber and Yoghurt Salad
Ingredients
- 1 cup cucumber grated or sliced in to pieces
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon toasted cumin seeds pounded in a mortar and pestle
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh finely chopped mint (optional)
Method of Preparation:
Mix all the ingredients together and Serve cold.
Yoghurt Banana Split
Ingredients
- 1 banana (split lengthwise)
- 3 different fruit diced separately
- 1 cup plain yoghurt
- fruit or carob syrup
- Chopped nuts
- Wheat germ.
Method of Preparation
Split banana to half lengthwise and place in long, shallow dish. Pile the diced fruits in 3 separate mounds between banana slices. Pour yogurt on top of fruit and cover with fruit or carob syrup. Now sprinkle with nuts and wheat germ and serve.
Yoghurt Chutney
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
- 1-2 green chilies
- 1cup yoghurt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin seeds
- 1 pinch of black pepper
- Salt
Method of Preparation
Put cilantro, chilies and salt into a blender and make a smooth paste. Now add yoghurt and mix to a smooth consistency. Chill in the refrigerator and serve after garnishing with cumin and black pepper.
