Roast your seeds!

  1. Carve your pumpkins and gather their seeds!
  2. Measure 1-2 cups of fresh raw seeds, and rinse them well in a colander with cold water. Take your time to remove all the slime! Once this is done, towel dry them and put them in a bowl. Set your over to 300
  3. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter, and pour the melted butter over the seeds in the bowl. Mix well, making sure the seeds get nice and covered with the butter.
  4. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt in the bowl and mix that in too.
  5. On a flat baking sheet, place a piece of tin foil, and evenly spread your seeds on the foil. Sprinkle again with a few more pinches of sea salt.
  6. Bake in your over at 300 for 45 minutes, toss occasionally. The seeds are done when golden brown and crunchy! Enjoy!

I love baking pumpkin seeds. We did it with our sons for many years. We just put them on a cookie sheet to bake. Do you think the foil browns them better and more evenly? Thanks for the hub.

Hi Cam8510, I do think the foil helps brown them more (and quicker), just don't get tempted to go overboard with the butter, or they get soggy afterward. Thanks for your comment! :)
