Tell Me What You Think!

5 stars from 1 rating of Strawberry Yogurt Pie

I began making yogurt pie when I was a teenager. I had found the recipe either in a magazine or maybe even on a Cool Whip container. It has always been one of my favorite desserts - both for the ease of making it and the delicious creamy taste.

My children grew up loving yogurt pie, and I still make it. (We won't worry about how many years later that is!) If you enjoy cheesecake style treats with graham cracker crust, you will probably love the yogurt pie. It is not nearly has heavy as cheesecake, and is a great topper to your spring and summer grilled suppers. Enjoy!

Hi, Kansasyarn. I've got to admit, I've never before heard of yoghurt pie! :) That is probably more than anything due to the fact that I don't have a sweet tooth but the recipe looks both simple and delicious. You've also got me thinking that a savoury version of this could easily be developed... Maybe using different crackers and such as cucumber, dill and garlic in the yoghurt?

Gordon, Hmmm, never thought about an alternative version using maybe plain yogurt with a cracker crust and some veggies. That sounds really good! If you develop it, let me know. Oh, love your cooking hubs! :-)

Hi kansasyarn,

I have never heard of a yogurt pie so this is a new and interesting desert option for me as I LOVE yogurt. I generally prefer the natural Greek style ones and may use a blueberry one or a fruits of the forest yogurt as I love berries! We don't have the same crackers but know a biscuit crust for cheesecake would do. Great idea, voted up, useful and interesting and shared!

kansasyarn, this is so easy to make. I'm imagining it tasting similar to the refrigerated version of cheesecake. This is a definite must try!

Careermommy, it is definitely a cheesecake type of dessert. It is lighter, though, and really creamy. Let me know what you think!
