Southern Glazed Candied Yams
Prepare The Perfect Side Dish
The Hubbard men love their yams, tender and sweet. Candied yams are the perfect side dish to complement a big feast.
Daniel & Michael Prepare Southern Glazed Candied Yams
5 Large Yams
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
2 Tbsp spoon cinnamon seasoning
2 Tbsp spoon nutmeg seasoning
2 Tbsp spoon flour
¼ cup corn syrup
1 16 oz can of pineapples (If desired)
½ cup raisins (If desired)
½ cup butter or margarine
2 cups marshmallows
Non stick Olive Oil Spray.
Step One: 1 Preheat Pan 350 Degrees. Peel and cut Yams to desired serving size
Step:2 Spray Cooking Pan With Non Stick Olive Oil Spray
Step 3: Bake The Yams
Prepare Your Yams To Bake
Add melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg seasoning. Stir and pour in yams, cover yams tightly and cook for approximately 90 minutes or until tender.
Step 4: The Glaze
How To Prepare Your Glaze
Remove yams from oven after 1 hour, or when yams are tender. Pour off excess liquid into the sauce pan set aside and let cool to room temperature. After which Whisk in pineapple juice( if desired.) with flour. Add brown sugar/white sugar and corn syrup. Bring your sauce to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes- stir frequently. Turn off heat and let stand for 30 minutes.
Step 5: Smooth Glaze Over Evenly Add Marshmallows if desired.
Use The tiny Marshmallows to top of your masterpiece.

Step 6: Return To Oven
The Final Step
Return to oven (uncovered) for about 15 minutes (or until marshmallows are brown) Remove from oven and let stand for about 20 minutes before serving.
