Favorite Hamburger Toppings

Hamburgers are one of the most popular foods in America, as well as many other parts of the world. Burgers are popular choices in restaurants and fast food establishments. They are also popular choices for homemade meals at home. Many people enjoy grilling burgers, and others like them prepared on the stovetop. However they are prepared, it's true that burgers are an easy meal that many people enjoy.

There are many different ways to enjoy hamburgers. Some people enjoy plain burgers, and others enjoy a variety of different toppings. There are a ton of different ways to dress up hamburgers condiments, veggies, and other add-ons.

Popular Hamburger Toppings

Mushrooms and Swiss Cheese: This is a personal favorite of mine. There is not much better than a tasty hamburger topped with melted Swiss cheese and sautéed mushrooms. The taste is even better if you stir in some sautéed onions. The next time you sauté mushrooms to serve with a steak, toss in a few extras so you can enjoy a mushroom and Swiss burger with the leftovers.

Bacon Cheeseburger: This one is my hubby's favorite. He loves burgers topped with extra sharp cheddar cheese and a few slices of crisp bacon. It's a popular choice on many restaurant menus, as well as in fast food establishments.

Chili Cheeseburger: While definitely not "first date food," chili and cheese make delicious toppings for tasty and delicious hamburgers. The next time you want something spicy, delicious, and messy for dinner, try whipping up a chili cheeseburger. This is a great way to use up leftover homemade chili, and you can also use canned chili.

Barbecue Burger: I never would have thought about putting barbecue sauce on a hamburger, but I noticed that one of the restaurants in my community offers a Hickory Burger. This tasty and unique hamburger is topped off with a ton of shredded cheddar cheese and a generous serving of sweet barbecue sauce. If you've never tried this burger topping, you're really in for a treat!

Mexican Burger: Even though one typically thinks of guacamole as being a delicious topping for quesadillas, tacos, or burritos, many people enjoy adding this Mexican condiment to their hamburgers. Simply spread a little guacamole on the bun, and enjoy!

These are just a few of the many different ways you can prepare delicious hamburgers that you and everyone in your family will enjoy. How about you? Do you have a favorite burger topping technique you'd like to share? Feel free to post your ideas and suggestions in the comments section below!

What could be more American than a good, old fashioned hamburger? If you like barbecue sauce as a topping, try mixing it into to your burger patties next time you grill. It makes for a great tasting and moist burger.

Home made "sliders" topped with sauteed onions are another fave around my house.

I WATCHED A COOKING SHOW ONE DAY AND IT SUGGESTED TO DICE UP ACTUAL HAM IT TO MY HAMBUGER. BACK IN THE DAY THIS WAS SOMETHING DONE PRETTY REGULARLY AND WAS CONSIDERED A TRUE "HAM"BURGER! YOU CAN STILL MIX IN ONIONS,SPICES,AND WORCHESTER SAUCE FOR EXTRA FLAVOR! VERY TASTY WITH THE HAM!

The Guac Burger

Guacamole:

1-2 avocados

1 medium-sized onion

1 green pepper

1 tomato (preferably stem tomato)

Handful of cilantro

3 cloves of garlic

1 tablespoon of EVOO

2-3 teaspoons of lime or lemon juice

2-3 teaspoons of salt

Cut avocados, green pepper, onion and tomato, and put them through a food processor until the large pieces are much smaller. Remove stems from cilantro leaves and add them. Measure out lime/lemon juice, salt, and EVOO, and add. Finally, dice and add the garlic cloves.

Add to top of burger with lettuce and any other garnish you like (e.g. tomatoes, onions, ketchup).

Enjoy!

My favorite topping is the mixture of Bleu Cheese and sauce on the "Blunami Burger" at Islands. Oh so tasty!
