What is "crazy crust" pizza?

Making pizza with a "crazy crust" is easy! But just what is crazy crust pizza? Basically, crazy crust pizza is a pizza with a crust that is crazy! Crazy because the crust is so ridiculously easy! The crust has just a few ingredients, does not need to be kneaded, requires no time to rise, and can be poured into the pan with the ingredients on top without having to be pre-baked. What? No pre-baked crust? No kneading? No rising? That is crazy! But delicious. It's like a miracle pizza! This crazy crust supreme pizza is the best, I will say, that I have ever had. And you can make it right at home.

I got the idea for crazy crust pizza from a recipe for "crazy crust" years ago. Since then, I have altered it to my own taste. The pizza sauce is also simple and comes from an adapted recipe. The crust and pizza put together with the supreme ingredients make a delectable, mouth-watering pizza. And it's easy to put together. So easy that you can get the whole family involved. Have the older kids chop the toppings while the younger kids mix the ingredients for the crust and sauce. Make it a family affair as you build this incredible pizza together! There are plenty of tasks for everyone to take part!

I make a supreme crazy crust pizza, but you can choose your family's favorite toppings. The crust is fairly thin, which is perfect for my tastes. It gives just enough crust without taking away from the other ingredients. This pizza is a big hit with anyone who has tried it. Have I made your mouth water yet? Read on...then go pick up all the ingredients and make your own! Have fun with it!

Ingredients for Supreme Pizza with Crazy Crust

Ingredients for the Crazy Crust:

1 cup flour (if you use self-rising, you may eliminate the salt and baking powder from this recipe)

1tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

1 tsp. Italian seasoning

2 eggs

2/3 cup milk

(Note: I have used regular flour WITHOUT baking powder, and the crust was great. It doesn't need to rise much, but I prefer to throw in a little baking powder for good measure.)

Ingredients for Homemade Pizza Sauce

1 8 oz. can tomato sauce

1 tsp. oregano

1-2 tsp. Italian seasoning

1/4. t. black pepper

(I really have no reason to ever buy storebought pizza crust and pizza sauce again!)

Making the Pizza Crust and Sauce

Okay, first let's make the pizza's crazy crust and easy sauce before we move on to the main ingredients to make our supreme pizza. Combine all the dry crust ingredients. Then add in the eggs and milk; stir until all is mixed together. Pour crust into a 9 x 13 casserole dish (sprayed with baking spray) or a deep pizza pan or cookie sheet. I prefer the pizza pan or cookie sheet, as the crust and ingredients can be spread out into more of a pizza-like fashion.

Next, mix up your sauce ingredients. Spread the mixture with a spoon or knife. Simple so far, right? We've spent very little time on either the pizza crust or pizza sauce. Now, on to the supreme ingredients. This will take some time, of course, with a little cooking and chopping, but, trust me, it will all be worth it. Give your little kitchen helpers jobs of stirring up crust and sauce, or chopping ingredients for the older kids. The children can then take turns adding the layers to the pizza.

Toppings for Crazy Crust Supreme Pizza

Here are the ingredients that I add to my delectable pizza...in the following order. Of course, you may have to alter your choices for picky eaters!

First, add 1 lb. Italian sausage (oh, I love that flavor!) cooked and drained.

Pepperoni slices (no need to heat if frozen; I use a lot of them, too!)

1/2 medium onion, chopped

1/2 (or more) chopped green bell pepper (can add red or yellow if desired)

6 - 8 sliced fresh mushrooms (I use a bunch of these, too!)

1 can sliced black olives (or slice your own)

1 8 oz. block mozzarella, shredded (loving that cheese!)

Cherry or grape tomatoes, sliced in half (Who knew these would be so tasty cooked on the pizza? Although not a traditional supreme pizza ingredient, I can't go without them now.)

Add shredded cheese and halved cherry tomatoes. Loaded and ready to go in the oven!

Bake that Pizza!

Now, you've created your easy crazy crust, tasty sauce, with layers of wonderful ingredients. Let's bake that thing. Stick that pizza into a preheated oven at 350 for about 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust appears to be a bit browned.

While this supreme crazy crust pizza is baking to perfection, take the time to put together a salad, and your pizza night will be complete. Whether for a romantic evening or for a family dinner, this pizza offers a delicious and filling meal. Listen to the oohs and aahs when this perfect pizza comes out of the oven. Watch the delighted faces as the children--and adults--taste this delectable creation that they have put together. You will make this again and again. It is too good not to do so.

Oh, gosh, you will be addicted to this pizza. Trust me. My mouth is watering.

Awesome Pizza Cutter Review

I bought this pizza cutter at a Pampered Chef party years ago. It is definitely the best pizza cutter I've ever used. It actually cuts through the crust! That's a big deal, right? Plus, it comes with the handy and very practical cover to keep you from cutting your hand when you shuffle around in the drawer to find the cutter. This pizza cutter was definitely worth the money I paid for it.

The pizza looks so delicious! Will definitely give it a try. I think I am going to like the crazy crust because it will save me lots of time without the kneading and I don't have to get my hands 'dirty'. Thumbs up and voted up plus more!

You had me at no-bake crust! I love making homemade pizza, but the crust takes extra time, so I often "cheat" by using a store-bought shell. This looks so easy and delicious, I have no excuse next time! Bookmarking and rated up!

steph--"You had me at no-bake crust!" haha-funny! The crust is the best part as far as easy goes. The part that takes the longest is adding all the layers of ingredients. Of course, just adding a few toppings would work, too. This crust is cheap, too! Glad you approve!

Yum, yum! Can't wait to try this crust out. I currently use a quick cornbread crust for last-minute pizza, but now I have another option!

This is a very interesting recipe...the "dough" reminds me of Bisquick's impossible pies. Too bad I'm off wheat and cheese. :( I really want one of these! Pinned.

Lordy, I wish my printer were working! Well, I DO have a pen and paper, and am writing this down right now since I just have to cook this pizza Tuesday. Why Tuesday? I don't know, it's just Tuesday-the happiest day of the week, someone once told me. ;)

Thanks so much for this, Victoria Lynn~

I think it was coined by my generation of weed smokers as the most 'cosmic' day of the week! Shh, though! ;)

LOL, lorlie! Shhh . . .. I won't say a thing. :-)
