Traditional Kerala Style Fish Moilee
Ingredients
- Pearl Spot Fish (Karimeen) - 1 Kg
- Green Chilly - 6 Nos.
- Big Onion - 2 Nos. sliced
- Tomatoes - 2 Nos.
- Ginger - 1 Table Spoon (Julienne style)
- Garlic - 6 cloves
- Lemon Juice - 3 Table Spoon
- Curry Leaves - 10 Nos.
- Turmeric Powder - A Pinch
- Coconut Milk - 1 Cup
- Coconut Oil - 2 Table Spoon
- Salt - to Taste
- Mustard - 1 teaspoon
Preparation
- Marinate the fish with a pinch of turmeric, lemon juice and salt for half an hour.
- Heat the pan and pour the oil.
- When the oil is hot, put in the mustard seeds, sliced onion, ginger, garlic, green chilly and turmeric powder.
- Souté for 2 minutes.
- Now pour the coconut milk and add salt to taste.
- Wait until the milk is boiled.
- Now add the marinated fish.
- Cook for 15 - 20 minutes.
- Garnish with curry leaves and tomatoes.
