Five Healthy Salads with Five Ingredients

Five Salads with Five Ingredients (Including the Dressing)

These are all salads I make on a semi-regular basis that are quick and easy to prepare. They have a low number of ingredients, including the salad dressing, and I have decided to share five, so there is one to eat for each day of the week.

For these salads, I am pairing them all with Annie’s Natural Dressing, a particular brand of natural dressing (no corn syrup, no artificial crap, etc.) that I recently found and love, but if you want to use a brand you are more comfortable with, be my guest!

1. Asian Mushroom Salad

For this Asian style salad, you will need the following:

  • Butter lettuce
  • Chopped Mushrooms
  • Carrot Peels
  • A handful of peanuts
  • Annie’s Natural Shiitake & Sesame Dressing

Combine lettuce, mushrooms and carrots. Sprinkle on some peanuts and drizzle on desired amount of dressing.

2. Cran-Raspberry Salad

For this berry style salad, you will need the following:

  • Romaine lettuce
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Almond Slivers (unsalted recommended)
  • Low/Reduced fat Feta cheese or Bleu cheese crumbles
  • Annie’s Natural Lite Raspberry Vinaigrette

Combine lettuce and cranberries. Sprinkle almonds and drizzle on desire amount of dressing. Finally, top with cheese.

3. Mini-Cobb Salad

For this Cobb-wannabe style salad that is a little high in fat, but still nutritious, you will need the following:

  • Romaine and/or Iceberg lettuce
  • Sliced Tomato
  • Sliced Avocado
  • Your choice of protein: Chicken, Bacon or both.
  • Annie’s Natural Goddess Dressing

For a truer Cobb feel, place piles of toppings in their own area on the plate. Mix it with your fork as you eat. Go easy on the dressing to keep the fat content down.

4. Cold Fajita Salad

It’s probably not exactly proper to call this a fajita salad since it won’t come sizzlin’, but it uses some popular fajita ingredients, which are the following:

  • Spring Mix lettuce
  • Diced Red Bell Pepper
  • Diced Red Onion
  • Chicken or Steak, cooked, diced and cooled.
  • Annie’s Natural Roasted Red Pepper Vinaigrette

Mix all ingredients together, and then drizzle on the dressing.

5. Shrimpy Spinach Salad

For this tropical style salad, you will need the following ingredients:

  • Spinach
  • Diced Mango
  • Diced Avocado
  • Cooked Shrimp
  • Annie’s Natural Fat Free Mango Vinaigrette

Mix spinach, mango and avocado together and drizzle on the dressing. Top with the shrimp.

And there you have it, five very distinct and easy to create healthy salads with five ingredients. Now, I do want to note that I do not work for Annie’s, nor did I get paid to promote them. I just really enjoy their unique natural dressings and wanted to share some of the creations I came up with.

You should be able to find Annie’s dressings as well as every other ingredient listed in your local supermarket!

I hope you enjoy these, and if you have any thoughts, additional suggestions or substitutions, feel free to leave a comment. Thanks!
