Good Eats in Claremont, California
La Picoletta Ristorante – Authentic Italian cuisine. I enjoy the grilled salmon. The anti-pasta is also delicious offering a wide variety of sauces. The setting is small yet quaint. I would not suggest you take the kids, because if they are similar to mines others eating may not enjoy their meal with the noise. I suggest you make reservation the place seats 40 very tight space. The best way to go is to make a reservation because a majority of the time the place in full. The service is excellent the owners are very warm and friendly. Definitely worth the visit.
Heroes and Legends – American food in large portions. The burgers are great, the chili fries are overwhelming in a good way, the drinks are ginormous. One order of mostly anything on the menu would fill two people. I like the peanuts “crack and throw them on the floor”. The food is good, which makes up for the lack luster service. I don’t think you have to be smiling and laughing with customers, but at least show a little sense of humor. That sometimes plays a role on if I decide to get a burger from this place or not.
Saca's Mediterranean Cuisine - Great food if you enjoy humus and flame skewered platters such as lamb, beef, and beef. I really enjoyed the lamb pita sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and onion. It's not fine dinning, more like lunch with a buddy or take out for movie night at the house.
Viva Madrid - An authentic Spanish tapas bar and restaurant. Some of dishes include Filet mignon and tilapia. My wife says the bacon wrap dates are to die for. You cannot go wrong with the cheese and ham platter. The service is excellent. The pricing is competitive. The place is always packed in the evening, but you can make reservations.
Le Pain Quotidien - Its a bakery that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The avocado and tomato omelet, Belgium waffle, and the avocado and lentil salad are delicious. The seating is adequate and interactive if you want to socialize. Friendly staff, fast service.
