Great Pizza Recipe

Two slices of my Swiss Cheese and Onion Pizza

I had 2 pieces left and I took a photo. I will take a photo of my entire pizza after it comes out of the oven next time. Plus I will show preparation photos. I added some cooked turkey to my pizza as you might be able to see.

Swiss Cheese and Onion Pizza

1 large onion

Some green onion for color

black pepper and basil

7 thinly sliced pieces of Swiss Cheese

If you want to add meat, add the meat of your choice

1 pack fast rising yeast

1-2 cups of all purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

1/4 cup of warm milk

1/2 cup of warm water

1/4 cup olive oil

Other items needed:

1 new paintbrush to brush on the olive oil

1 dinner fork

1 pizza roller

1 wooden rolling pin

1 metal whisk

1 mixing bowl

1 pizza baking sheet

The dough:

Warm up 1/4 cup of milk make sure the milk is warm but not hot. Put one package of yeast into the warm milk and dissolve it with a whisk. Get your mixing bowl and add the flower into the bowl. Add the sugar and salt to the flour then also add the yeast mix to the flour. Mix well. At this point the mix might be too dry or too wet so you either have to add more warm water or add more flour. Just do this according to what you know is best. Once the dough is at the right consistency get it ready to roll it out. Place the rolled out dough on the pizza pan. Once the dough is covering the entire pizza pan, brush the dough generously with olive oil. Now take a dinner fork to poke some holes into the dough for aeration. Set the pizza pan aside at a warm place. You can gently cover it with a towel if you like.

The pizza toppings:

Chop up the onion to your liking. If you want also add some green onion for color. Once chopped cover the onions in olive oil. Now prepare the thin cheese slices to fit over the entire pizza. Then add the onions on top of that. If you have any other ingredients to add, you can do it now. Put some black pepper and basil on top of that and any other seasoning you might like.

Baking the pizza:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and wait until the oven is warm and then put the pizza into the oven. Bake for about 20-30 minutes until the edges turn golden brown. This usually takes at least 30 minutes but keep an eye on the pizza. Once the pizza is done take it out and cut into portion with a pizza roller.

This pizza will serve 2 - 3 people.

Note: The photo above shows my pizza and I had put some cooked turkey breast on my pizza also. The pizza is delicious with or without any meat toppings.

Sure and you can try to make the dough with a healthy flour too if you wish.
