Health Benefits of Yogurt – Cancer Prevention

Laboratory studies have revealed that yogurt contains lactose, protein, calcium and other minerals, and is highly rich in lactobacillus, besides, yogurt has the health benefits of preventing cancer and Alzheimer disease.
There are about 100 species of bacteria living in the human intestine. In general, these bacteria can be divided into good or “friendly” bacteria and malignant bacteria, these two rivals compete with each other to maintain a certain balance in the intestines. However, middle-aged people usually have growing number of malignant bacteria in their intestines, which not only causes constipation or diarrhea, but also makes it easier in the formation of carcinogens during the metabolism process of meat, fat and protein. Therefore, in order to prevent any disease that may occur, balance should be made between these two kinds of intestinal floras.
The lactobacillus in yogurt contains polysaccharoid K and peptidoglycan. Both substances can directly increase the number of healthy bacteria to maintain the balance of intestinal floras, and help the excretion of carcinogenic substances. In addition, there are scientific reports that, oligose can activate the functions of lactobacillus and other bacteria in the intestine, so that it helps to prevent colon cancer.
Yogurt contains high quality protein that helps to enhance vascular strength. Moreover, 100 grams of yogurt contain 150 mg of potassium, which increases the excretion of extra sodium (salt) from the urine and lowers the blood pressure. Besides, eating yogurt regularly is an effective way to prevent atherosclerosis, hypertension, stroke and cerebral vascular dementia due to blockage of blood vessels.
Yogurt, with milk as raw material, is rich in calcium. Compared with fishes and other foods, milk calcium can be absorbed easily. However, there are a small portion of people who report diarrhea after drinking milk due to what we called lactose intolerance, but when eating yogurt, lactose is almost completely decomposed. Moreover, yogurt helps to prevent osteoporosis, fracture and paralysis common among senior people.
Carrot yogurt soup
- 450g carrot
- One onion, finely chopped
- 250ml yogurt
- 2tbsp olive oil
- Some salt
- Some black pepper
- 1200ml water
1, Finely chop the onion.
2, Slice the carrot and put it into a blend and whizz until you have a fine paste.
3, Pour water into a stock pot, heat until boiled.
4, Heat the olive oil in a pan and add the onion. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
5, Add the carrot paste into the pan, cook for another 1 minute. Then pour the mixer into a stock pot, cook for 5 minutes until softened. Add some salt and black pepper.
6, Add some yogurt when eating.
