Put a ZING in your Summer Drinks
THINK TEA IS BORING OR BITTER? I am about your change your mind! You can serve Zinger teas to your whole family. They taste like a cross between Kool-Aid and flavored water and are caffeine free. Your kids will love them, too!
All of the Zinger teas are made from the Hibiscus plant. These healthy teas come in different flavors, like raspberry, wild berry, tangerine orange, lemon, and cranberry apple. Let's start with my favorite summer drink: Tangerine Orange Zinger Iced Tea.
Tangerine Orange Zinger Iced Tea

1/2 gallon water (8 glasses or 64 oz.)
4 bags Tangerine Orange Zinger tea
1 orange, sliced
a few squirts of Stevia liquid (or sweetener of choice)
Cold Brew: Mix water and sweetener. Add tea bags, add orange slices and chill in the refrigerator 4-10 hours (depending on desired strength). Pour over ice to serve.
Hot Brew: Boil 4 cups of water and add tea bags. Remove bags and stir-in sweetener. Mix with 4 cups of cold water in a pitcher and add orange slices. Refrigerate.
In summer, kids love slushes! Watermelon slushes are easy to make and refreshing.
Cut your watermelon into small chunks and freeze. Once frozen, place in a blender with a few small ice cubes and just enough water to blend. If your watermelon isn't sweet enough, add a liquid sweetener (like stevia or agave) to taste. (To have it last longer add a little lemon juice.) Delicious!
NOTE: Zinger teas can also be used in making slushes. Prepare your teas as in the recipe above. Fill an ice cube tray with the tea and freeze. Place ice cubes into a blender with only enough cold, unfrozen tea to blend. Blend until slushy.
NOTE: Many fruits can be frozen to make different flavors of slushes: blackberries, blueberries, cherries, melons, bananas.
Your friends and family will never know how healthy this drink is!
1 leaf of kale or several of spinach, torn
1 large, organic, ripe banana
1/2 cup frozen blackberries
1 tablespoon raw agave or honey or stevia (optional)
Blend all ingredients with enough water to make a smoothie as thick as you like it.
NOTE: For a green smoothie eliminate the blackberries.
1 cup raw almond milk, 1 ripe, organic banana, 1/2 cup strawberries
Peel and cut banana into chunks and freeze. Blend all ingredients and drink.
To make a different flavor use a different fruit instead of the strawberries.
