How to Make Lilac Syrup

Homemade Canned Floral Syrup

If you are like many people, you love the smell of lilacs. Have you ever thought of making a syrup out of those wonderful flowers ? This is an incredibly easy syrup recipe that can be altered with any flower of your choosing.


1 cup of water

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of lilac flowers

In a 4 quart saucepan, heat up the water until warm and add your sugar, stirring until dissolved. Next add your flowers, and simmer for 10 minutes.

Using a filter, drain the mixture into a jar. Wait until it cools off, put lid on it and store in the refrigerator.
