Vermicelli (Semia) Upma Preparation
Vermicelli or Semia Upma is a nice item for breakfast or for evening tiffin. Given below are the Ingredients and Method of preperation of Semia Upma.
- 2 cups Vermicelli
- ½ Cup Chopped Onions
- 1 tsp Chopped Ginger
- 2 Green Chillies finely Chopped
- 1/2 Cup Cooked Vegetables (carrots-beans-green peas)
- 6 Cashew nuts (Optional)
- ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon Asafoetida
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- Curry Leaves
- 1 tsp Ghee
- Salt to taste
Method of Preperation of Semia Upma
Heat oil in a Kadai. Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle.Once done add Onions, ginger and Green Chillies and saute till the Onions are tender on medium heat. Add asafoetida and Vermicelli and saute for a few more minutes. Add one cup of water and cook the vermicelli after closing the lid so that the water is absorbed completely.Remove from heat and add ghee and lemon juice and mix carefully without mashing the vermicelli. Serve Hot.
