How to peel tomatoes for canning
Step 1: Get a large pot of water boiling and next to that, place a large bowl or container 3/4 full of ice water.
Step 2: Carefully place the tomatoes into the boiling water and make sure they're completely submerged.
Step 3: Once the skin starts to split apart (appr. 2 minutes), remove from water and immediately submerge in the ice water.
Step 4: After the tomatoes have cooled down enough, remove from water and peel away the skin with your fingers and discard skins.
Step 5: Halve tomatoes and squeeze out seeds if desired. You're now ready to can.
