Italian Beef Hero Sandwich
So many people like the Chicago style italian beef sandwich and everyone I talk to about this classic sandwich always has a different way of making this tasty treat, so today I want to share a quick and easy way to make great tasting italian beef.
To make a great tasting italian beef sandwich the flavor starts with your broth, if your brot is good then you know your sandwich is going to be good.
What I do is make my own italian seasoning blend but all you have to do is pick up a pack of italian dressing seasoning mix from your local super market and follow my recipe .
To make the broth
1 pack of italian dressing mix
I 4oz can of mushrooms
2 pounds of deli style roast beef
6 italian hoagie rolls/ split in half
12 slices of pepper jack cheese
1-1/2 cup of beef broth
1-12oz bottle of bud ice beer
2 tablespoons of butter
Using a dutch oven or a heavy pot on a medium heat add the beef broth, bottle beer, mushrooms and the Italian dressing mix bring to a simmer then add your butter and reduce heat to low and add your beef.
While you beef is heating up combine the following
3 tablespoons of mayonnaise
1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons of prepared horseradish sauce
To make the sandwich
Combine the mayonnaise, mustard and horseradish together and spread on your hoagie roll, fill hoagie rolls with the pepper jack cheese and the roast beef, mushrooms and serve if your like me take a little bit of the broth and drizzle on top of your sandwich......enjoy.
