How to Make Potato Cakes from Leftover Mashed Potatoes
Potato Cakes. Potato Patties. Or my personal favorite: Tater Cakes! Whatever you want to call them, I finally made some! If you've ever wondered how to make tater cakes from leftover mashed potatoes, I'll share the recipe that I used. Enjoy!
1 1/2 - 2 cups leftover mashed taters (firm is better, but creamy will work, too)
1/4 tsp dried minced onion
1/4 tsp dried minced garlic
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp seasoned salt
2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup shredded mixed colby and monterey jack cheese
2 tbsp butter or margarine
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. In a medium bowl, lightly beat the egg. Add the rest of the ingredients to the egg and mix well. Shape into 4-6 patties. Fry each side for 2-3 minutes or until they're as done as you like! Enjoy.
