How to Make Fish Mackerel Burgers, Salmon Croquettes Recipe
How to Make Canned Mackerel
- Mackerel fish, 1-2 cans
- Eggs, 1-2
- Flour (all purpose)
- Cornmeal, yellow
- Green Bell Pepper
- (optional) Onion flakes
- Burger buns, 1 pack
- Seasoning salt (Mrs. Dash, or Spike)
Canned Mackerel/Salmon Croquettes Recipe Instructions
Start by adding the ingredients in a bowl, put 1-2 cans of mackerel fish in a bowl depending on how many fish burgers you want to make. Some canned mackerel have small fish bones; open each fish and remove the small fish spine.
Now add 1 or 2 eggs in the bowl, and add 2 tablespoons of flour and 2 tablespoons of cornmeal. Dice 1/2 of a green bell pepper and add it to the bowl with some sprinkled onion flakes. Sprinkle some seasoning salt into the mackerel mix as well, and then mix the ingredients with a fork or your hands.
Pour a 1/2 cup amount of cooking oil into a skillet with medium heat. Begin forming medium sized burger patties and then place each fish patty into the heated skillet. Once the fish burgers are golden brown on each side, remove each one onto a plate that has a 2 ply paper towel. The paper towels on the plate will help de-grease the fish burgers as they cool off.
Now that the mackerel fish burgers are done, you can put them on burger buns to make a tasty sandwich. Also add to your sandwich other things that you like such as lettuce, sliced tomato, mayonnaise, ranch sauce, sliced pickles, etc.
