Mad Eliza's Cakes

Mad Eliza's Cakes Topeka Ks

This is a story of a local entreprenuerial couple and how they started Mad Eliza's Cakes and Confections.

Peggy Murnahan has always had an interest in baking, and she would bake cakes for her children's birthdays and other events. Friends would see them would beg her to make cakes for their occasions.

When she looked at the local market, there were many places selling cakes that were mass produced, then when they were sold, they would have one of their employees pipe a name on top of the cake. She thought that while it was easy, it was not something of quality.

Both Peggy and her husband Mark have both run their own internet companies, so running a business is not a stretch, and they knew that even in this down economy, people would be willing to pay for quality.

Thus was born Mad Eliza's Cakes and Confections. Peggy bakes, and Mark does marketing and helps out. Some days the children pitch in.

Peggy began doing cakes and confections, and word spread by mouth and by the internet. She started to get busy, and people often need to book well ahead to get one of her cakes. Many days she works early morning to late night. Every cake or confection is done to order. She is putting out lots of beautiful cakes.

Just like the rest of the country, another thing that has hit our town is the fancy cupcake phenomenon, and she has been baking some pretty nifty gourmet cupcakes. In this hub i will show you some of her creations.
