Sinfully rich: soft mincemeat centers and a delicious butter-based crumbly topping.

How to Make Mincemeat Bars

  1. Cream butter thoroughly
  2. Stir in brown sugar
  3. Add vanilla
  4. Add, flour, baking powder and salt (sifted together)

Mix ingredients thoroughly.

  • Take half of mixture and pat into a buttered 9 x 13" pan
  • Spread with mincemeat
  • Crumble the remaining dry mixture and sprinkle over the mincemeat

My mother used to make these wonderful bars growing up, they've become one of my husband's favorite Christmas goodies :-)

Hi Donna,

Thank you! these are much easier to make than mincemeat tarts and taste every bit as good. I like this recipe because it's different.
