Chex Mix (optionally spicy)
My mother and I love to cook. We just recently added my daughter to the mix and when she is old enough we will teach her everything we know too.
Now we love to cook a nice meal every night so it is hard to make something new and something that we have never had before. So we like to make up something new all the time. I am going to start out with something that is perfect for Sunday football, or even a good snack on a day that you are going to be really busy. It also makes for a great alternative for kids to bring to school instead of that bag of chips.
3 cups Corn Chex
3 cups Rice Chex
3 cups Wheat Chex
2 cups selected nuts
1 1/2 cups pretzel sticks or small twists
1 cup bagel chips or rye chips
2 sticks butter
4 Tbsp Worsteshire
1 1/2 Tbsp season salt
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 tspn onion powder
1 Tbsp cayenne pepper (optional)
You can also add Cherrios if you would like
Melt butter and spices in disposable aluminum pan in oven at 250 degrees. Add all ingredients and evenly coat with butter and spice mixture. Bake for at least 1 hour- stirring every 15 minutes. Spread out on paper towel to dry and cool.
