Not just another birthday cake
There are birthday cakes, and then there are some very special birthday cakes. Some people are talented enough to be able to create their own birthday cake master pieces. While others who aren't so fortunate to have such great talent are destined to buy their birthday cakes in stores. The traditional birthday cake has a long history behind it. Back in 15th century Germany the idea was born of making one layer cakes for birthdays. In the 17th century the birthday cake took on the form that we have come to know today. In the 18th century the tradition of adding candles to the top of a birthday cakes came about. However back in those days these birthday cakes were only available to the wealthy side of society. This is no longer true today, and just about anyone can afford a birthday cake on their special day.

After seeing this birthday cake now, what do you think the theme might be that it's been given? Try not to over think this particular question, and look at what is happening with this cake. This is just for fun, and there really isn't any perfect answer to this question. (Hint - It really doesn't have anything to do with Kit Kat candy bars.) What do you think the theme of this birthday cake is?
