PUNCH BOWL CAKE
A COLORFUL AND YUMMY DESSERT
1 box yellow cake mix
Bake in sheet pan according to package directions. Cool.
1 can blueberry pie filling
1 can cherry pie filling
2 large cans crushed pineapple (drained)
1 large + 1 small box vanilla instant pudding (mix according to package directions)
2 (8 oz) cartons of cool whip (thawed)
1 cup chopped pecans
1 small jar cherries
1 large punch bowl
Divide cake in half. Crumble half in the bottom of large punch bowl. Layer 1 can pineapple, 1 can pie filling, 1/2 pudding, 1 bag cool whip.
Crumble remaining half of cake. Layer 1 can pineapple, 1 can pie filling, other half of pudding, 1 carton cool whip.
Top with pecan and cherries
Apart from being delicious, a big part of this recipe is in the appearance. A punch bowl is ideal, but any clear bowl would be just as useful. There is so much you can do with this recipe. For example, you may substitute the pineapple with bananas, the blueberries with strawberries, or you may use them all. Layer, layer, layer. Be as innovative as you want to be, it is a win, win recipe.
